Role Summary
As a member of our Software Development team, the Senior WordPress Backend Developer’s responsibilities include implementation and maintenance of scalable web applications and services.

What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Software Development Director, this new hire will:

  • Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, and plugins.

  • Develop and support WordPress backend software, including applications, database integrations, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements.

  • Customize WordPress core functionality using PHP and JavaScript to meet business needs.

  • Ensure high-performance, reliability, and maintainability of code.

  • Optimize WordPress performance, security, caching, and scalability.

Who You Are

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with PHP, including extensive experience customizing WordPress (themes, plugins, hooks, filters, API integrations).

  • Strong experience with MySQL.

  • Experience with RESTful web APIs, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX technologies.

  • Knowledge of CSS, HTML, and ability to customize UI elements within WordPress.

  • Experience working with Jira, Git, Agile methodologies, and continuous integration tools.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize effectively.
