Massive Bio is a rapidly growing health-tech startup founded in 2015 to provide every cancer patient with access to clinical trials regardless of their location or financial stability.  Our proprietary patient recruitment and enrollment enablement solution for oncology clinical trials solves every point of friction in traditional clinical trial enrollment. Privately held and headquartered in NY City, our passionate changemaker team is looking for a Senior Machine Learning Developer working out of our Istanbul office.    

As a key member of our Software Development Team, you will be joining our team in Istanbul, Turkey and your responsibilities will include the implementation and maintenance of scalable machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) software applications. You will work with clinical and molecular data from a variety of sources related to cancer clinical trials and convert this data into computable formats, develop statistical algorithms, and create the necessary data flows to generate life-saving insights.

Reporting to the Director of Software Development, you will:

• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop an understanding of software product requirements and technical specifications.
• Research and devise innovative statistical models for data analysis.
• Communicate findings to the AI and Product Development teams.
• Enable smarter business processes by using analytics for meaningful insights.
• Serve as data strategist to identify and integrate new datasets that can be leveraged through our platform and work closely with Product Development team members throughout development.
• Identify relevant data sources and sets to mine for client business needs and collect large structured and unstructured datasets for model development.
• Design and implement algorithms and models to mine big-data stores; perform data and error analysis to improve models; clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy.
• Analyze data for trends and patterns and interpret data with clear objectives in mind.
• Implement analytical models in production by collaborating with software developers and machine-learning engineers.

 Candidate Profile:

• 6 or more years of experience in data sciences, preferably working on healthcare models.
• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in computer science, data science, statistics, applied mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis.
• Advanced experience in pattern recognition and predictive modeling.
• Proficiency with SQL, Python, and R programming languages.
• 3 or more years of experience in ML and NLP.
• Ability to work effectively on multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic and results-oriented setting.
• Proven results influencing stakeholders and demonstrating results.
• Ability to translate complex problems and ideas into easily understood descriptions.
• Ability to work independently, self-starter, can-do attitude, ability to multitask, and prioritize.
• Experience in healthcare technology is a bonus.
• High level of speaking proficiency in English to be part of international calls when needed.
• Living in Istanbul, preferably on the Anatolian side.
• The work location is Kozyatagi, Istanbul; at least 2 days/week at the office.
